About Jane

BPsychScience (Hons), Master/PhD Psychology (Adelaide),BNurs (Flinders) MAPS, MAAPI.
Senior Clinical Lecturer, School of Psychology, University of Adelaide

I have completed a Masters degree and Doctorate in Psychology, with my research focussed on grandparents experiences and needs following a child's perinatal loss. I have a deep understanding of perinatal loss, and the difficulties families can experience following the loss of a grandchild.

I am also a Registered Nurse and bring many years of experience working supporting people with their health. I have worked in both private and public sectors, in hospitals and primary care centres, in both metropolitan and rural areas.

My working experience has crossed all stages of the lifespan, from pregnancy, the neonatal period through childhood, adulthood and into older age. My work has involved caring for individuals and families during times of illness and during times of stress and adjustment. I take a holistic approach to care, considering biological/physical, psychological and social factors in assisting my clients.

A little bit about Jane – My family is what motivates me. I have a deep love of music and you may catch me singing between consultations. I apologise in advance for any insult to your ears! If forced to choose, I am a dog person, however I became a “grandmother” to two cats in recent years and I am happy to discuss any form of furry friend. On my days off you’ll find me either drinking a restorative coffee with my family or friends, or out in nature walking on some track with my favourite furball.

My professional interests include helping individuals manage:

Trauma
Anxiety and depression
Loss and grief
Chronic pain
Adjustment to chronic health conditions
